Microsoft Missing Step?
Microsoft is fast-tracking the development of the next generation of their Windows Operating System mainly due to the failure of their last release Vista which flopped. many of those who jumped onto the Vista bandwagon soon opted to downgrade to the more stable XP platform. There are rumors that XP’s support will be expanded for a few more years according to HP, the largest PC and Laptop manufacturer in the world who has an agreement to continue selling certain products installed with XP. Is this a sign of Microsoft losing step with their next OS?
Maybe, for they stand to lose a lot of their users if they fail to compensate for the shortcomings of Vista which has been deemed a total flop by users and industry experts alike. Seems they are losing grip of their monopoly on the world which has in part been due to their older OS’s which have gained more support due to stability and better performance. Guess they better re-think their strategy or lose to the many rising competitors out there to get at their necks in what maybe a losing battle for the software firm.
